Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Q: How much will I have to pay for my legal fees??

A: It depends on the complexity of your case. We will establish what your fees will be before we start your case, so you will know what you will be expected to pay before we do anything. We never ask for upfront fees and only send you an invoice once the process has finished. The only time you will pay more than agreed is if you change your mind during the process, and ask us to do more than was initially agreed.

  2. Q: How quickly can I have an appointment with you??

A: As soon as we are available to see you and when is convenient for you. We operate mainly on a first come, first served basis and the case load of the particular solicitor suited to your case. We will always set your expectations accordingly before we start and keep you informed of our progress as we go along.

  3. Q: I don’t live in the Shrewsbury area. Can you still act as my solicitor??

A: Absolutely. Although we like to meet our clients where possible so we can get to know them, we are happy to engage with clients across the UK. You can contact us by phone, email and letter, so it is possible to act on your behalf wherever you are based.

  4. Q: I’ve used solicitors before and found it difficult to speak to them when I need to. How easy is it to speak to Hooper Burrowes Legal??

A: At Hooper Burrowes Legal, we pride ourselves on our clients being able to talk to us whenever and how ever they want. In fact, we think that our commitment to communication is what makes us different: you can call us on 01743 292444 24-hours a day, email us on info@hblegal.co.uk or come and see us in the office at 11, The Courtyard, Yeomanry Road, Battlefield Enterprise Park, Shrewsbury SY1 3EH. And once you become our client, we make sure we stay in contact with you to let you know what’s happening with your case.

  5. Q: If you engage my case, will it get the full attention of a qualified solicitor??

A: Yes. Our practice is led by John Burrowes and Robin Hooper, both of whom are fully-qualified, experienced solicitors. The practice also employs our Consultant Solicitor Christine Campbell, who is also fully-qualified and Abbie Pritchard, our trainee solicitor, who works very closely with John, Robin and Christine. We are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority meaning there are certain rules and regulations we must follow when dealing with our clients, so you can be assured that we will give your case our full attention at all times.

  6. Q: Is there anything I need to bring with me for my first meeting??

A: Like lots of other professionals, we must follow money-laundering regulations so we know who we are dealing with. That means we need to confirm your identity and current address, so we will ask you to bring a passport or driving licence with you, and a recent utility bill or bank statement at your first appointment.

  7. Q: What are your areas of expertise??

A: We deal with just about every area of the law.
We can help with your planning issues, conveyancing, commercial property law, making a will and personal injury claims. Hooper Burrowes is dedicated to servicing our clients’ every need and offering a great value, outstanding law service.
